Due to growth, we are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team.

We are proud to offer:

  • Base salary range of $55,000 to $75,000 (based on experience)

Position Summary:

As Estimator, your primary responsibility will be to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential renovation and addition projects. The Estimator will work closely with the design, project management, and trade partners/vendors to ensure that project scopes are clearly defined and budgets are aligned. This position will also maintain and refine the company’s cost catalog that will be maintained/updated every 6 months, and assist in managing purchase orders and change orders.

Hours are Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of residential construction experience

  • Strong knowledge of building materials, methods, and residential construction practices

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and scopes of work

  • Proficiency with estimating, takeoff, and project management software

  • Excellent math and analytical skills for accurate takeoffs and cost calculations

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

  • Proficiency for developing and maintaining systems and processes

Estimator Duties:

  • Develop detailed project estimates based on drawings, specifications, and scope documents

  • Make site visits to verify scope and measurements

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analyses for materials, labor, and subcontracted work

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive cost catalog for materials, labor rates, and vendor pricing

  • Build initial project schedules and review schedules of open jobs with the team

  • Collaborate with the internal team to refine scopes and align costs

  • Prepare and issue purchase orders for materials and subcontractors

  • Code invoices to purchase orders in bookkeeping platform

  • Manage change orders, including pricing, documentation, and budget updates

  • Manage material procurement and purchasing

  • Review subcontractor bids for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with project documents

  • Participate in pre-construction meetings to review plans, budgets, and design updates

  • Make site visits to audit material deliveries and returns

  • Manage project budgets and coordinate with accounting team for VPOs when necessary

  • Maintain and update estimating templates, assemblies, and pricing databases

  • Support project management staff with cost forecasting and budget monitoring

  • Manage vendor and trade partner relationships to ensure accurate pricing

  • Assist with building new trade partner and vendor relationships

  • Participate in post-completion project review of financials, schedule, lessons learned

  • Manage updates to drawings and ensure that the field staff has updated drawings/sketches
